Data Structures and Algorithms
This work is intended for students in the computer science bachelor's degree program and engineering schools. The expected level of mastery corresponds to the second year of the bachelor's degree. In this book, we assume that the basic concepts of algorithms are acquired; indeed, we present here more complex data structures. The book is organized into six chapters covering the entire program of the second year of the computer science bachelor's degree program. In each chapter, we present a lecture notes followed by a varied series of exercises with detailed solutions presented in a pedagogical manner to help the student understand the solution. At times, we provide the translation of the solution into C language. For C programs, we used the Code::Blocks IDE, so it may happen that if you use other IDEs, some syntax errors may be reported. The majority of the C programs presented are functions, so we advise students to manipulate programs using these functions to understand the solutions well and eventually be able to improve them depending on the envisaged applications. For the syntax used in algorithmic solutions, we have kept the one used in our first- year book (Algorithms: Exercises with solutions, "Edition Pages Bleues Internationales"). Depending on the universities or schools, there may be some differences in syntax, but they do not affect the logic and substance of the solutions. Finally, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Chahra-zad IGHILAZA, an esteemed algorithm specialist at USTHB, for her meticulous review of the manuscript prior to its publication, as well as for her valuable advice and insightful corrections, all of which have greatly contributed to shaping this book into its current form For all your comments, you can contact us at the following address: bbessaa@yahoo.fr
